The exponentially expanding quantities of organic information in addition to related advances in computing energy are making attainable the development of quantitative, predictive organic structures types. This improvement may perhaps revolutionize these biology-based fields of technology. to aid this alteration, the U.

The order, in different states, appears in five different files (six if the original paper order is included). This is duplicated data and, furthermore, data which is difficult to control. For each file we require re-run points, security copies and so on. What is worse, the 'rejects' at each stage only appear on a listing. What happens if they are forgotten or lost? Even if they are not, effort is wasted in keying them. 13. In this there are only two basic programs in the 'job' which can be run at any time.

1 What does it represent? When the concepts of activity analysis were introduced, the activity was defined as a classification of actions. As we know, classification means grouping like actions together and giving them a name which represents that type of action. What may not have been obvious at that stage was that the extent of classification was not defined in the definition—there were no rules which said that an activity type is a classification of 'low level' actions directly representing the action.

8 Optionality It is possible that an activity does not always produce a certain output or use a certain input. 17. If the doctor (say) who is making the diagnosis cannot match the patient's symptoms to the medical condition details, he may not be able to produce a diagnosis. The use of optionality is optional! It is only there to make things more meaningful during the analysis process. If it does not help, do not use it, as it has no use other than that (that is, it cannot be used during design).
